Photographer, Author, and Cancer Survivor
Earlier this week I had the pleasure of photographing this lovely home on Matthews Lake. It’s officially in Trego, WI, but it’s also close to Spooner, Minong, and Webb Lake. It features great views of Matthews Lake from nearly every room–including the lower-level rec room.

The current owners of this northwest Wisconsin lake home just accepted an offer presented by their listing agent; that agent happens to be Jean Hedren, my Realtor wife. Now, normally I wouldn’t be complaining about an accepted offer, or even wishing that it had arrived a day or two later. But in this case I’m going to make an exception.
You see, every year about this time Jean sends her photographer (that’s me) out on a mission. Any wintertime listings that aren’t yet sold get a spring refresh. The exteriors for some homes get two springtime updates–from white to brown, and then brown to green. In other cases, depending on weather and other variables, listing photos just go straight from white to green–or at least from white to greenish brown. Depending on the number of listings that came in during the months of November through April, this spring green-up can be quite a project.
When it came to this home on Lower Eau Claire Lake, I was a day late with my fresh photos. Just after I’d captured a dozen or so exteriors and drone photos like these, but before they were on the MLS, new buyers saw the the old photos. They asked to see the home in person, they liked what they saw, and one thing led to another. Oh, well. Better late than never. P.S.: All those mysterious underwater circles in the next photo? They’re what’s left of last year’s sunfish and bass nests. Farther from shore, just outside this photo, there were dozens more.
