Friday I spent a delightful afternoon photographing this Mathews Lake cabin near Trego, Wisconsin.

Despite the cabin’s dark siding, its interior turned out to have a bright, open, and airy feel, with lots of blond wood, muted colors, and white walls.  One of the cabin’s owners is originally from Finland, and that may explain the Scandinavian design influences.

It probably also explains the sauna, which was of course pronounced correctly by the owner.  I also got the impression that this sauna sees more regular use than most of the others I’ve photographed over the years.  The cabin’s decor was fun and quirky, and I especially enjoyed the fireplace detail.
