Don’t be fooled by the unassuming exterior of this Barnes, WI lake home on Upper Eau Claire Lake.  With its walk-out lower level facing the lake, it’s much larger than it appears from the driveway side.

(I wrote “driveway side” because with lake homes like this one “front” or “back” can be confusing.  OK, so maybe you arrived at the front door.  But then when you’re inside your house and facing the lake, you’ll feel like the back side, the lake side, is really the front side.  If you know what I mean.)

This house also has a spectacular interior.  I especially liked the exposed beams made from reclaimed wood–and also the massive stone fireplace made from real stone, not just stone facing.  It extends to the lower level, where there’s a second fireplace in the rec room.  And just for extra measure, there’s a third fireplace in the master suite.  For a peek inside this spectacular lake home, just scroll on down.
